Hello! I’m Reece Dickerson
I’m a senior at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre and a BS in Computer Science. I’m a singer, actor, and dancer originally from Overland Park, Kansas, which is at the southern end of the Kansas City metropolitan area. I’m currently being represented by Exposure Inc. in the states of Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Nebraska! (Link at bottom of page)
In The Beginning…
My theatrical journey began in eighth grade when my choir teacher asked me to audition for our production of High School Musical Junior. Before this, I had never considered doing anything more than singing in an ensemble.
From then on, I started looking for any opportunity to be on stage!
A Cappella
During my senior year of high school, I a member of KC A Cappella: Soundproof where I sang lead bass. In the spring of 2022, we participated in Varsity Vocal’s ICHSA, and won first place at finals!
I have continued this love of a cappella at Drake University as a long standing member of the Brocal Chords!
Drake University
It is no understatement to say that I would not be who I am today without the wonderful connections and memories that I’ve made in my time at Drake. On campus, I am a member of Drake Theatre People, The Brocal Chords, and the Iowa Delta chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
At Drake I had many amazing opportunities to grow and learn. Not just as a performer, but as a person. Whether that be through studying for finals, memorizing a script, learning to code, participating in Drake traditions, or even spending the month of January in Kosovo hosting a STEM fair. The well rounded curriculum at Drake allowed for me to gain experience in all realms of theatre, from delivering a monologue to managing a show.
